Blues Archive showcases video and audio recordings of blues artists from the extensive collection owned by Blues Archive together with present and future releases.

This project began in 1994 as a dedicated programme to document the life histories and musical talents of blues musicians because we felt that too many were dying in obscurity without recognition and without their music being celebrated.

Blues Archive was created by professional film makers Paul Reed-BBC Documentary Film Cameraman, Bob Webber-Sound Recordist and Amanda Palmer-Sociologist at Oxford University who combined their skills with a knowledge and love of the blues to record the dynamic blues scene of the 1990’s.

Coming to the present, this original collection of contemporary blues music on digital video is now being developed in partnership with classic blues record label JSP Records into a series of retrospective music documentaries on DVD.
